Psalms 50 - Worship

Friday 18 July 2014

No matter what happens - He Is God!

He is in control!
He is on His holy mountain and He does not move!
He is steadfast and constant!
He will not change!
He is holy, holy, holy! Mighty, righteous and true!

Jude 1:24 - Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of                     His glory blameless with great joy.
        1:25 - to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and                           authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.
                  (These words were penned by one of Jesus' younger brothers, someone who grew up with Him,                     whose eyes had seen and hands held - What a privilege!)

Psalm 50
 4: He summons the heavens above,
     And the earth, to judge His people:
 5: "Gather My godly ones to Me,
     Those who have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice." (through Jesus)
 6: And the heavens declare His righteousness,
     For God Himself is judge. [Selah.
 7: "Hear, O My people, and I will speak;
     O Israel, I will testify against you;
     I am God, your God. (David would have rather been handed over to God for judgement than man.                                                  Would we not choose the same?)
 8: "I do not reprove you for your sacrifices,
     And your burnt offerings are continually before Me.
 9: I shall take no young bull out of your house,
     Nor male goats out of your folds.
10: "For every beast of the forest is Mine.
      The cattle on a thousand hills. (What can we give God?)
11: "I know every bird of the mountains.
       And everything that moves in the field is Mine. (What can we show God?)
12: "If I were hungry, I would not tell you;
       For the world is Mine,
       and all it contains.
13: "Shall I eat the flesh of bulls,
      Or drink the blood of male goats? (How could we nourish God?)
(God gives us the answer right here)
14: "Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving,
      And pay your vows to the Most High;
15: And call upon Me in the day of trouble;
      I shall rescue you, and you will honor Me."

23: "He who offers a sacrifice of thanksgiving honors Me;
      And to him who orders his way aright
      I will show the salvation of God."

Psalm 100
 4: Enter His gates with thanksgiving,
     And His courts with praise.
     Give thanks to Him; bless His name.
 5: For the LORD is good;
     His lovingkindness is everlasting,
     And His faithfulness is to all generations.

So the only thing we can truly give God is our worship. It would seem we need to find out just what true worship entails. Pretty exciting!

God Bless Your Day Today!

Joshua Chapter One, Post One

Wednesday 8 January 2014
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. - Hebrews 13:8 NLT

Because this is true - so also is this:

Joshua 1:3 - "Every place on which the sole of your foot treads, I have given it to you, just as I spoke to Moses.
1:4 - "From the wilderness and this Lebanon, even as far as the great river, the river Euphrates, all of the land of the Hittites, and as far as the Great Sea toward the setting of the sun, will be your territory.
1:5 - "No man will be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I have been with Moses, I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you.
1:6 - "Be strong and courageous, for you shall give this people possession of the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.
1:7 - "Only be strong and very courageous; be careful to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, so that you may have success wherever you go.
1:8 - "This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success.
1:9 - "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go."

Jesus said during the Sermon on the Mount, "Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish, but to fulfill." - Matthew 5:17

Jesus fulfilled the Law, so we can walk in the freedom of God's grace and mercy, and His love and acceptance; so that "every place on which the sole of your foot treads" is the Promised Land. He has given it to us. We just have to be strong and courageous and trust that He is with us wherever we go.

Matt Redman - Never Let Go

The book of Joshua is so encouraging to me. In the first chapter alone God says to be, "Be strong and courageous" three times.

I hope you enjoyed your day today.
